If only America Bob Koke didn’t move from Hawaii and step his foot at Bali beach in 1936 (later built Bali Hotel in Kuta), perhaps surfing life in Bali will not becoming like today Bob had a long board he had brought with him from Hawaii and the rest was history.
Although Surfing didn’t immediately catch on though and lucky old Bob had all the waves to himself and its not until 1960′s when Jerry Lopez, Kim Bradley and others and they discovered the Bukit peninsula.

Bali is a good place to surf for many reasons. These include hot water, relatively uncrowded breaks, compared with California and Australia. Bali gets some kind of surf most of the years, breaks and Kuta and Dreamland beach and coral reefs in the rest of the Bukit, including the famous Uluwatu. Bali’s unique geography, which means you can get a selection of left hand breaks on one side of the Bukit, drive for 20 minutes and get a new selection of everything breaks right hand. In Lombok, for example, you would have to walk for 4 hours or more to get from one side of the island to the other.

During the dry season (April-October), the trade winds for surfing the western part of the coast, including stops in the western Bukit including Uluwatu and Bingin. During the wet season (November to March) the tides and winds for the east coast and the eastern Bukit breaks like Nusa Dua.

it was saying cliché that if you can not afford travel insurance, you can not afford to travel., But cliches are often true. If you go abroad, travel covered even cheaper travel insurance are actually quite reasonable compared to the price of airline tickets, much less the price they have to pay if you break your leg or get all your bags stolen.
Well, of course you can go anywhere, but do not expect to be covered by travel insurance companies if the country or region you are thinking about starting to have a specific travel advisory from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Hot spots such as Iraq or Somalia marked not travel very likely to be rejected by your insurance company.
In general, you can find a list online with several sites that offer to notices of date. There may also be discouraging travel warnings (the next lower level) to a lot more destinations, including Indonesia (Bali and therefore), so it’s best to check with individual companies in case of doubt.
Bali is a tourist destination for Australians. Summer, winter, business or vacation, Bali is a fantastic travel experience.
It is recommended to fly to any destination in Asia ensures you travel with a Bali travel insurance
Unfortunately for you, the problem may have been politicized, and may even seem strange – Australia was recently risk as a destination country for some time as the United Kingdom following the Cronulla riots – but the company probably will not want to know your opinion is safe.
Finally, even if you travel to a country with no history of violence, your business can still pay out of many policies will not cover any act of war or terrorism whatsoever.

Kuta area is one of the most crowded areas in Bali. Once a fishing village, Kuta was one of the first areas in Bali, which became tourist destination. It is not surprising that backpackers visiting Bali are wandering around the area and this is a glance of interesting information about Kuta you must know.

The beach of Kuta
The white sand of beach extends 5 kilometers long and may be considered one of the best beaches in Bali. Although safe and clean, never away from the street vendors here. Local vendors will try to offer their goods and services, such as cigarettes, rent surfboards, hair braiding services, or massage. Many visitors love to sunbathe on the beach. While most serious surfers try to tame the wild waves of Uluwatu Padang orPadang, there are still many surfers come to beach by the waves. waves are not too dangerous, ideal for beginners or people wanting to learn to surf.

The accommodation
It is a fact that in 1980 Kuta was recognized as one of the three K Southeast Asian routes which are the most popular backpackers. The other two were Ks Kathmandu in Nepal and Khao San Road in Bangkok, Thailand.
Kuta is known for having the broadest range of accommodation in Bali. Hotels as the Hard Rock Hotel, Mercure , Kuta Paradiso Hotel, Villa de Daun Grand Istana Rama and are available to spend at least $ 100 per night. However, if you are traveling on a budget, you can find a place to stay and that costs IDR 70,000 to 250,000 IDR ( $10 – $30 ). These cheap hotels are usually located in the Poppy’s Lane I and II.

KINTAMANI VOLCANO
As the area is located on a hill 1,460 meters above sea level, it is cool all the year round and one can feel chilly in the morning and at night.

Kintamani volcano has a double crater volcano, where volcanoes erupted three times in 1927, 1929 and as recently as 1947 at the center of a lake formed in a crater that resulted from a eruption long time ago, with unique shape that look similar to a Korean bowl. Even now, smoke is emitting from the crater with frames and a lot of ashes that makes one wonder how soon it will erupt again.

Beneath the crater lies lake Batur, which maintains the same depth all the year round even in the rainy season or dry season, leading the residents to a belief that the god has taking care of the lake to keep the same depth, which also reflects the Bali people’s belief in the god.

BEDUGUL
Situated on the high land with an altitude of 1,200 meters above the sea, it is always cool and so chilly in the morning and at night that one has to wear overcoat. Lake Beratan is the most beautiful among the three lakes in Bedugul region, which is regarded important as a source of water for the farm land in the vicinity. The people in Bali think highly of water and “Vishnu” in Hindi is a god representing water, in which they believe the life stems from water.

On the other side of the lake is Ulundanu temple that is renowned for its beauty, the base of which is Ulundanu temple in the Batur located in the Kintamani volcano area. In the lake Beratan it is possible to play in the water, like boating, jet skiing, parasailing.

Two kilometers inside the Bedugul fruit market is an elegant park surrounded by woods, which is called Kebun Raya, a place so well organized in order as to extract an exclamation.

TANAH LOT
Tanah Lot means “Land in the Middle of the sea” in Balinese language. Located in Tabanan, about 20 km from Denpasar, the temple sits on a large offshore rock which has been shaped continuously over the years by the ocean tide.

Tanah Lot is claimed to be the work of the 15th century priest Nirartha. During his travels along the south coast he saw the rock-island’s beautiful setting and rested there. Some fishermen saw him, and bought him gifts. Nirartha then spent the night on the little island. Later he spoke to the fishermen and told them to build a shrine on the rock for he felt it to be a holy place to worship the Balinese Sea Gods. The Tanah Lot temple was built and has been a part of Balinese mythology for centuries. The temple is one of seven sea temples around the Balinese coast. Each of the sea temples were established within eyesight of the next to form a chain along the south-western coast.

At the base of the rocky island, poisonous sea snakes are believed to guard the temple from evil spirits and intruders. As well as one giant snake which also protects the temple, which was created from Nirartha’s scarf when he established the island.

ULUWATU TEMPLE
Uluwatu Temple (Pura Uluwatu) is one of Bali’s six directional temples and Uluwatu’s only site of significance. Though a small temple was claimed to have existed, the structure was significantly expanded by a Javanese sage, Empu Kuturan in the 11th Century. Another sage from East Java, Dang Hyang Nirartha is credited for constructing the padmasana shrines and is claimed to have attained Moksha here. More remarkable than the temple itself is its location, perched on a steep cliff 70 meters above the roaring ocean waves. There are more steep headlands on either side, and sunsets over Uluwatu are a sight to behold.

As usual, you need to be properly dressed to enter and sarongs and sashes can be rented at the entrance. Guides, once famously mercenary, hassle visitors less than they used to, although they will offer to “protect” you from the monkeys, for a tip of course. Note that while you are free to walk around the temple grounds, the central courts can only be entered during special rituals.

The temple is inhabited by large number of monkeys, who are extremely adept at snatching visitors’ belonging, including bags, cameras and eyeglasses. Keep a very close grip on all your belongings and stow away your eyeglasses if at all possible. If you do have something taken, the monkeys can usually be induced to exchange it for some fruit. Needless to say, rewarding the monkeys like this only encourages them to steal more. Locals and even the temple priests will be happy to do the job for you, naturally in exchange for a tip (Rp 10,000 – 50,000).

There is also a very scenic Uluwatu cave with rock formations leading into a beach close to the temple. This is a popular spot for surfers

UBUD MONKEY FOREST
The Ubud Monkey Forest is a nature reserve and temple complex in Ubud, Bali. It houses over 200 Crab-eating Macaque (Macaca fascicularis) monkeys.
